Why do the commands 'up2date' or 'rhnreg_ks' exit with message 'ERROR: can not find RHNS CA file::'?
Issue
- Trying to register systems using the command
rhnreg_ks ``--serverUrl=href=https://satellite.example.org/XMLRPC`` \
--sslCACert=RHN-ORG-TRUSTED-SSL-CERT --activationkey=1-myactivationkeyid --force
results in this error:
ERROR: can not find RHNS CA file::
- Execution of 'up2date -l' results in this error:
ERROR: can not find RHNS CA file
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4 on the client system that is to be registered
- Red Hat Network Satellite
- Red Hat Network Proxy (asumed to be not essential for the problem to occur, but part of original environment)
- package up2date up2date-4.6.2-7.el4-x86_64 on the RHEL4 client, other versions are also likely to be affected
