Resolution

Prerequisites

  • Syncing the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 channels is only supported on Red Hat Satellite 5.6 and later.
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 has a separate and new channel family
    • To sync this channel you must first create a new Satellite Certificate

Procedure

NOTE: This is a high level procedure that requires you to complete the steps from at least two other solutions as well. Please review all of the steps required before proceeding.

  1. Ensure your Satellite is running version 5.6 or later
  2. Generate a new Satellite certificate
  3. Activate that certificate on your Red Hat Satellite server.

  4. Confirm RHEL 7 channels are available to sync using one of the following commands

    grep 'family="rhel-server-7"' /etc/sysconfig/rhn/rhn-entitlement-cert.xml

    Or

    satellite-sync -l | grep server-7

  5. Synchonize the Channel(s) on Satellite.
