JON script server resource's execute operation returns success with exit code of -999 after an hour

Issue

  • -999 exit code from ScriptServer resource execution
  • Operations view shows completed normally, but with exit code -999
  • The process runs for an hour and appears to end
  • Looks like the script never completes on the agent system
  • Script server operation times out after 1 hour even though operation-invocation-timeout-secs and operation-timeout are well above an hour

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.1.2
  • Invocation of a Script Server resource's Execute operation
  • The script for the Script Server resource takes longer then 1 hour to finish executing
