Can't get past the firstboot setup agent screen on newly installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5

Issue

  • Installed fresh Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 but can't get firstboot agent screen passed.
  • It keeps prompting for the same setup information over and over after reboot and power cycle.
  • While pressing CTL-ALT-F1, following text appears:
firstboot DEBUG: Successfully loaded module create_user, adding
Loading /lib/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/us.map.gz
Window manager warning: Buggy client sent a _NET_ACTIVE_WINDOW message with a timestamp of 0 for 0x80008d (firstboot)
Window manager warning: meta_window_activate called by a pager with a 0 timestamp; the pager needs to be fixed.
