How to configure "jboss-as-maven-plugin" to connect to an SSL secured JBoss EAP management interface ?

Issue

We have a JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) domain management interface configured as per solution article: Using 2-way SSL for the management interface and the jboss-cli.
Is it possible for the maven plugin (jboss-as-maven-plugin) to still connect to this SSL secured Jboss domain ?
Prior to the ssl implementation, our maven plugin configuration worked fine via setting the server details (username/pwd) in the settings.xml in maven.
