How to override default PGDATA environment variable in Red Hat Satellite 5.6?

Issue
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux provides ability to override the default PGDATA environment.
- Is there any way to override default PGDATA environment variable in Red Hat Satellite 5.6?
Resolution
- Internal RFE was filed to provide ability to override default PGDATA environment in Red Hat Satellite installer.
But it got closed as WONTFIX because Red Hat Satellite 5 is now officially in maintenance phase. Red Hat Satellite 6 is where next generation work is being done.
Root Cause
- In Red Hat Satellite 5.6, database is stored in
/var/lib/pgsql/dataand is default recommended and supported configuration. - Changes done to
/etc/sysconfig/pgsql/postgresqlwill be overwritten by Red Hat Satellite installer and default settings will be used.
