SCTP multi-homing failover delays
Issue
- When using multi-homing in SCTP there is a fairly high failover delay when a link goes down. Steps to reproduce this behaviour are detailed as follows:
- On the server :
./iperf -s -l 1000 -p 3333 -z - On the client :
./iperf -c 172.16.0.1 -l 1000 -p 3333 -z -t 300 - Do an
ifconfig downon server
The test is blocking for about 1 min before resuming.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP)
