While trying to list or delete a directory in a gluster volume, it fails. Why ?

Issue

When trying to list or delete a directory in glusterfs, it errors out as following :

# ls
folder1
# rm -rf folder1/
rm: cannot remove directory `folder1/': No such file or directory
# ls -lR folder1/
folder1/:
total 0

The directory is not empty. The files can be located in the underlying bricks but not from the volume.

The following logs are seen in the gluster client :
