Issue

We are getting the following message in dmesg:

WARNING: polling idle and HT enabled, performance may degrade.

Is this an error/bug in the kernel or do we have an issue that may actually affect performance?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4
  • idle=poll kernel parameter is set
  • hyperthreading (HT) is disabled
  • Intel x86_64 CPU
