JON launcher scripts display readlink missing or not found errors

  • Installation fails
  • Script complaints about missing readlink

  • Install script displays the following message:

    ./rhqctl: readlink: not found
...
./rhq-storage-installer.sh: readlink: not found
...
./rhq-server.sh: readlink: not found
...
./rhq-installer.sh: readlink: not found
...

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.2
  • readlink is not installed on platform the affected script is being executed on
  • Execution of a launcher script such as rhqctl
