How to regenerate the client_config_update.py file in Satellite 5.4

Issue

  • What is the purpose of the client_config_update.py* files? Just so I can understand what possible outcomes I may see with the client.
  • Is there a way to have my Satellite recreate the file?
  • System registration on satellite server via bootstrap script fails with following error
UPDATING RHN_REGISTER/UP2DATE CONFIGURATION FILES
-------------------------------------------------
* downloading necessary files
client_config_update.py...
client-config-overrides.txt...
ERROR: client_config_update.py was not downloaded
