When are changes to a -ds.xml file detected?

Issue

  • Does changing the max-pool-size get picked up automatically without restarting the EAP instance?
  • Are these INFO messages indicative of the change getting picked up without a restart of the EAP instance?
  • Can a -ds.xml file be hot redeployed, or do I need to restart the server?

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 5
  • persisting a -ds.xml file to disk in <JBOSS_HOME>/server/<profile>/deploy
  • logging showing
INFO [ConnectionFactoryBindingService] Unbound ConnectionManager 'jboss.jca:service=DataSourceBinding,name=<ds name>' from JNDI name 'java:<ds name>'
