EJB3 - ThreadlocalPool.discard() memory leak when exception thrown from bean method in JBoss EAP?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We have found a serious problem with JBoss EAP 5.0.1 and EJB3 which seems covered in the JIRA JBPAPP-6624. On each call the EJB container leaks a bit of memory (from the discard method) and after a number of calls the memory has run out and the server needs to be restarted.

Environment

  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 5.1.2
