How to stop MAILER-DAEMON messages in Sendmail?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Issue

  • Is it possible to stop Mailer-Daemon messages?

Resolution

  • Open /etc/mail/access file and enter following line:
From:MAILER-DAEMON@<your domain>          DISCARD

Note: From address should be same as from address who is replying spam mails.

  • Save the file and restart sendmail.
# service sendmail restart
