VDSM encounters high cpu usage on RHEV-H 6.5 on an idle system

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • After upgrading RHEV-H from 6.4 to 6.5, vdsm is now using a lot of cpu time and the system-wide cpu usage is around 60% on an idle system with no active VMs.

  • Sample vdsm cpu usage extracted from running top against the main vdsm process;
