Getting message "ImportError: No module named gtk.glade" after running system-config-printer

Issue

  • When running system-config-printer, getting following message:

    File "/usr/share/system-config-printer/system-config-printer.py", line 28, in ?
      import gtk.glade
    ImportError: No module named gtk.glade
    
  • system-config-printer fails with the following error:

    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/share/system-config-printer/system-config-printer.py", line 29, in <module>
      import gtk.glade
    ImportError: No module named gtk.glade
    

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 and 6
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS)
  • system-config-printer
