Environment

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux [All ]
• Citrix XenCenter

Issue

• Not able to boot the VM into GUI mode while installing it in CITRIX XenCenter.
• Installtion of server starts only text mode.

Resolution

• Add vnc to the Advanced OS boot parameters in citrix while installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

• Xvnc server can be configured as a workaround to start the GUI.

• Engage hardware vendor ( Citrix ) for further troubelshooting and clarifications.

Root Cause

• Citrix XenCenter doesn't provide any VGA device. That's why it's not able to start X-server on VM machine running on XenCenter server.
