Red Hat Satellite server failed with error "Consumer profile xxxx has been deleted from the server".

Issue

  • subscription-manager commands failed with error as below :

    # subscription-manager identity 
    Consumer profile "xxxxxxxxxxx" has been deleted from the server. You can use command clean or unregister to remove local profile.
    
  • Unable to update any package on Red Hat Satellite server and yum repolist failed with below error :

    # yum repolist -v 
    Loaded plugins: builddep, changelog, config-manager, copr, debug, debuginfo-install, download, foreman-protector, generate_completion_cache, groups-manager, needs-restarting, playground, product-id, repoclosure, repodiff, repograph, repomanage, reposync, subscription-manager, system-upgrade, uploadprofile
    Updating Subscription Management repositories.
    
    This system is registered with an entitlement server, but is not receiving updates. You can use subscription-manager to assign subscriptions.
    
    DNF version: 4.7.0
    cachedir: /var/cache/dnf
    Error: Cache-only enabled but no cache for 'rhel-8-for-x86_64-appstream-rpms'
