Yum Update Fails Due to grub2-common Version Mismatch with grub2-efi-aa64-modules on RHEL 7

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • While performing a system update on a RHEL 7 server, Yum reports a dependency conflict:
Error: Package: 1:grub2-efi-aa64-modules-2.02-0.87.el7_9.14.noarch (@rhel-7-server-els-optional-rpms)
Requires: grub2-common = 1:2.02-0.87.el7_9.14
Removing: 1:grub2-common-2.02-0.87.el7_9.14.noarch (@rhel-7-server-els-rpms)
Updated By: 1:grub2-common-2.02-0.87.el7_9.15.noarch (rhel-7-server-els-rpms)

This results in yum failing to update due to a version mismatch between the installed grub2-efi-aa64-modules and the available grub2-common.
