Machines with 16 character or longer hostnames cause issues when joined to Active Directory
Issue
- Hostname collisions with names longer than 15 characters in AD
- When I join a machine to AD, the previous machine stops working
- Random machines no longer able to authenticate users when joining other machines
- Some of our RHEL machines hostnames match each other for the first 15 characters
