How to Inspect a Pod’s DNS Cache

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

Pods themselves do not maintain a DNS cache by default. Instead, DNS caching is managed at the cluster level (e.g CoreDNS) or on the underlying worker nodes (e.g dnsmasq).

Environment

  • Openshift Container Platform (OCP)
  • Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA)
  • Azure Red Hat Openshift (ARO)
