Unable to configure a bridge interface when macvtap0 is already configured?

Issue

  • Why does bridge configuration fails and logs shows "br0: port 1(eno1) entered blocking state"?
  • Why "brctl show" does not display the interface configured with the bridge interface?
  • Why do we see "br0: port 1(eno1) entered blocking state" and "br0: port 1(eno1) entered disabled state"?
  • What could prevent a bridge from being configured successfully?
  • Unable to configure a bridge and logs shows "br0: port 1(eno1) entered blocking state".
  • Info log : "device (br0): state change: config -> ip-config (reason 'none', sys-iface-state: 'assume')".
  • Info log : "device (eno1): state change: ip-config -> ip-check (reason 'none', sys-iface-state: 'assume')"
  • Unable to configure bridge interface when macvtap0 is already configured?
