Expired Loki objects stored in Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation are not removed after setting up a Lifecycle Policy with shorter retention

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Loki objects, stored in an RHODF Multicloud Object Gateway (Noobaa) instance, are rapidly filling up all the space in the disks.
  • Setting up a Lifecycle Policy with a specific retention for these objects do not remove the expired objects already present in the disks.
  • Trying to set the ExpiredObjectDeleteMarker field inside the Lifecycle Policy will results in the following error:

An error occurred (NotImplemented) when calling the PutBucketLifecycleConfiguration operation: A header you provided implies functionality that is not implemented.

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (RHODF)
    • 4.12
