Deleting a volume snapshot results in status error_deleting

Issue

  • When attempting to delete a volume snapshot associated with a volume, the operation fails with an "error_deleting" message, and the snapshot is not deleted. This occurs even when the --force option is used.
  • The following error occurs in cinder-volume.
ERROR cinder.volume.manager RemoteFSInvalidBackingFile: File /var/lib/cinder/mnt/40c1a4b2d2f98d625fe59c1d83e7f3c7/volume-7c4cbb9b-1e67-4cc8-a718-76c38c2ae6f1.11ffde9c-6458-464f-9724-4e669784e9f7 has invalid backing file /var/lib/nova/mnt/40c1a4b2d2f98d625fe59c1d83e7f3c7/volume-7c4cbb9b-1e67-4cc8-a718-76c38c2ae6f1.f4d8e7fa-75b5-4154-af63-ef0388e678da
