Reinstall fails with a pkispawn error after running ipa-server-install --uninstall.

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Running ipa-server-install --uninstall does not uninstall cleanly, then re-installation fails with the following error:
ipa : CRITICAL failed to configure ca instance Command '/usr/sbin/pkispawn -s CA -f /tmp/tmpgCH3CE' returned non-zero exit status 1
Configuration of CA failed
  • NOTE: The above error is also seen when running "ipa-server-install" for a fresh install, when the previous installation is not cleaned/removed properly.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.0
  • IPA/IdM
