Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I have a security requirement to set 640 permission on /dev/audio file.

  • Changing permission using "chmod" command on /dev/audio does not retain persistent across reboot. After reboot, the permissions of /dev/audio file set to default permission 660.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
