  • Kernel panic on boot up due to USB modules in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.7
  • When the system is booting up, a kernel panic occurs. This doesn't happen all the time but on a rough estimate with every 3 reboots, it happens once.
  • Panic will be similar to:
    Freeing unused kernel memory: 224k freed
    Write protecting the kernel read-only data: 527k
    Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at 000000000000001c RIP:

    PGD 0
