Getting kernel panic on RHEL 4 running on VMware ESX 4.0.
Issue

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 machine is not coming up on VMware ESX 4.0. Upon starting the virtual machine, getting the following kernel panic error.
"kernel panic not syncing attempted to kill init"
It's a VMware P2V converted virtual machine.This is the first time it's powered up.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x
- VMware ESX 4.0 (host)
- VMware P2V
