qemu-img conversion doesn't work with vmdk3 images

Issue

  • qemu-img convert fails with the following error:
# qemu-img convert -f vmdk -O raw ./RHEL-disk1.vmdk ./RHEL.raw
'image' uses a vmdk feature which is not supported by this qemu version: VMDK version 3
Could not open './RHEL-disk1.vmdk': Wrong medium type
Could not open './RHEL-disk1.vmdk'
