Tracepath not knows the MTU

Issue

  • We're trying a tracepath from the host with MTU=9000

  • If we do not specify the tracepath length, tracepath outputs:

    [root@guest ~]\# tracepath xxx.yyy.zzz.www  
1: no reply  
2: hosta.example.com (192.168.0.1)    8.619ms  
3: no reply  
4: no reply  
5: no reply (util 30 no reply)

  • In the other hand, if we specify the length with -l 9000 option, we obtain a correct output. we did not see output like "no reply".

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • kernel-2.6.32-131.17.1.el6.x86_64
  • iputils-20071127-16.el6.x86_64
