How to set permissions for each possible user action in BRMS?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Environment

  • JBoss Enterprise Business Rules Management System (BRMS)
    • 5.0.x
    • 5.1
    • 5.2

Issue

  • Is possible to define custom roles/permissions to access each GUI elements or each user actions?

Resolution

Currently is only available and supportable the roles explained in BRMS Administrator Guide:

  • admin - complete access to all areas of the JBoss Enterprise BRMS Platform
  • analyst - maintaining rule resources by category. It does not have access to administrative or package stuff
  • analyst read-only - useful for situations such as when an analyst is responsible for maintaining rules in one category but needs to be able to examine rules in another.
  • package administrator - The package administrator permission grants full control over the specified package, including the right to deploy it. The Package Administrator permission does not grant any administrative rights to any other part of the JBoss Enterprise BRMS Platform.
  • package developer  - Package developer permits users to create and edit items within the specified package. This includes being able to create and run tests but does not include the right to deploy the package.
  • package read-only - The package read-only permission is similar to the analyst read-only permission but grants access to a package instead of a category.
