multipath command prints message "query command indicates error" in RHEL

Issue

  • We see below error in the multipath output when a path is down:

    Oct 31 05:23:09 | sdbq: emc prio: query command indicates error
Oct 31 05:23:09 | sdcb: emc prio: query command indicates error

  • Is it possible to suppress these 'query command indicates error' messages in the multipath output?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4, 5, 6
  • EMC Clariion
  • device-mapper-multipath configured to use the emc_clariion path checker
