Autofs service segfaults when started on bootup or manually in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Issue

When autofs service is started on bootup or manually the service become "segfault" in Red Hat Enterprise Linux

While manually starting the service:

# automount -fd --pid-file /var/run/autofs.pid
 lookup_read_map: lookup(hosts): map not browsable, update existing host entries only
 remount_active_mount: trying to re-connect to mount /net
 mounted indirect on /net with timeout 300, freq 75 seconds
 lookup_mount: lookup(hosts): <NFSSERVERNAME> -> (null)
 get_exports: lookup(hosts): fetchng export list for <NFSSERVERNAME>
 Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • autofs-5.0.5-88.el6
  • libtirpc-0.2.1-3.el6
