Can't mount a GFS or GFS2 filesystem when FENCE_JOIN="no" in /etc/sysconfig/cman in RHEL 5

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Can't mount a GFS2 filesystem because a node is not a member of the default fence domain.
  • Cluster is quorate.
  • Fence is working properly.

  • Messages after runninig mount command were:
    /sbin/mount.gfs2: node not a member of the default fence domain
    /sbin/mount.gfs2: error mounting lockproto lock_dlm

  • After running fence_tool join was possible to mount GFS2 filesystem.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 with the Resilient Storage Add On
  • FENCE_JOIN="no" in /etc/sysconfig/cman
  • GFS or GFS2
