Server is displaying mount error " /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 already mounted" or busy during boot

Issue

  • Server reboot receives the following errors:
mount: /dev/cciss/c0d0p1 already mounted 
mount: /dev/cciss/c0d1p1 already mounted 
mount: /dev/cciss/c0d1p2 already mounted 

We try to execute fsck.ext 3 to these 3 partitions without success. The messages when we try to run the fsck.ext3 is the following:

fsck.ext3 /dev/cciss/c0d0p1
e2fsck 1.39 (29-May-2006)
fsck.ext3: Device or resource busy while trying to open /dev/cciss/c0d0p1
Filesystem mounted or opened exclusively by another program?
