Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite

Issue

  • Customer can not retrieve repository metadata while syncing a satellite

Resolution

  • Verify the server pointing to an inactive proxy server address

  • Changed /etc/rhn/rhn.conf to remove proxy server

server.satellite.http_proxy = wrong.proxy.address

Root Cause

  • rhn.conf configuration error

Diagnostic Steps

  • Confirm /etc/rhn/rhn.conf for configuration errors.
