Node unable to join cluster and ccsd reports "Unable to bind to ipv6 frontend socket, but inet_ntop returned NULL pointer: Cannot assign requested address" in RHEL 5

Issue

  • Starting cman was failing with following error message on one of cluster node in 3 node cluster:
Starting cluster:
   Loading modules... done
   Mounting configfs... done
   Starting ccsd... failed

                                                           [FAILED]
  • Following events logged in the log file /var/log/messages:
