Trailing Slashes Issues in Apache HTTPD

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I have an apache proxy server that I want to use Proxy Balancer to support multiple backend servers, running a 3rd party application on IIS. When I configure the Apache instance with the balancer, the calls to the backend fail, resulting in 500 errors. However when I use simple ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse statements, the calls to the backend work.

  • I'm trying to figure out how to tell apache to load a web page whether it has a forward slash at the end or not. Example: this URL http://example.com/myappgives me this error:

    Not Found
The requested URL /myapp was not found on this server.
