How to change the traceback email on Red Hat Satellite?

Environment

  • Red Hat Network Satellite 5.x.x

Issue

  • Where to change the traceback email address for Red Hat Satellite?
  • How to change the email address for satellite-sync reports?

Resolution

  • Edit the traceback_mail line at the top of /etc/rhn/rhn.conf and change it to the new address

  • Restart the Satellite services:

[root@host]# rhn-satellite restart
  • Additionally, satellite-sync accepts options --email and --traceback-mail
    • From man satellite-sync:
       --email
              e-mail a report of what was synced/imported (sent to whomever is considered the receiver of "traceback_email").

       --traceback-mail=EMAIL_ADDRESS(ES)
              alternative email address(es) for all sync correspondence.  Example: --traceback-mail="user1@example.com, user2@example.com".
