Multipath device 'mpatha' does not exist while using "clearpart --drives=mpatha --initlabel" in kickstart configuration, why ?

Issue

  • While using the clearpart directive with mpatha as given below, the installer complains that the device mpatha does not exist.
# clearpart --drives=mpatha --initlabel

  • But using --initlabel without mpatha shows that mpatha is cleared. Why is this so?

    # clearpart --all --initlabel
