How do run multiple instances of JBoss on RHEL installed via RPM?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • We can set environment variables per server profile by adding run.conf to the profile directory in $JBOSS_HOME/server/<profile>. Is there another way to specify environment variables per instances on RHEL, when JBoss is installed via RPM?
  • When Tomcat is installed via RPM on RHEL we simply add environment variables to /etc/sysconfig/INSTANCE. Does this work with JBoss?

Environment

  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 5.x
