Why after migrating or cloning a Virtual Machine, the network interface was renamed from ethX to ethY on RHEL Server ?
Issue
- After migrating or cloning a Virtual Machine, the network was renamed from
ethXtoethY - The network does not work even if the
ifcfg-eth0file is set up accordingly. - Also in some cases where image clone was used to create a new Virtual Machine, changing
eth0toeth1 - The following resolution is also useful if you are renaming the Network device from
eth1toeth2for example.
