Node Feature Discovery Operator update failed on OpenShift Container Platform 4.7

Issue

  • After cluster upgrade from 4.6.26 to 4.7.9, NFD Operator failed to update with the below error message:

    Danger alert:Failed
risk of data loss updating nodefeaturediscoveries.nfd.openshift.io: new CRD removes version v1alpha1 that is listed as a stored version on the existing CRD

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 4.7
  • Node Feature Discovery (NFD) Operator
