Changing Base channel of client system on satellite server using API script causes exception error

While running API script to change base channel of system profile in satellite, it is throwing following exception error:
xmlrpclib.Fault: <Fault -1: 'com.redhat.rhn.common.translation.TranslationException: Could not find translator for class java.lang.String to interface java.util.List'>
