Lucene index creation is taking too long in EPP 5

Issue

Starting of our EPP instance is taking very long (several hours, as the JCR data is very big), whenever it is necessary to rebuild the Lucene indexes.

  • It is possible to provide a recovery strategy for the production system in order to minimize the downtime?
  • Is it possible to disable the Lucene indexing completely, as we are not using any search functionality in our Portal?
