Performance concerns with using large LUNs versus smallers ones

Issue

Any performance concerns with using large luns versus smaller ones?
As far as the OS io subsystem is concerned would there be any significant performance difference between offering up a 1TB LUN from an aggregate, over 2 x 500gb LUNS from the same aggregate ( ie same splindle set)?
