NIC enumeration ignoring udev rules on HPC Solution
Issue
-
After applying udev rules (https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-17338) on a system with kusu (pcm) installed, NIC enumeration is not obeying the udev rules. Rather 'tmp' interfaces like the following are being enumerated:
dev7498 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr B4:99:BA:YY:YY:YY dev11351 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr B4:99:BA:XX:XX:XX -
Loss of network connectivity across intefaces that have udev rules
-
On boot, the HWADDR directive is being appended to /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethX files:
# HWADDR=B4:99:BA:XX:XX:XX HWADDR=B4:99:BA:XX:XX:XX
