Red Hat Insights client creates world writable files under /etc/insights-client

Issue

  • Red Hat insights-client creates world writable files inside directory /etc/insights-client.
  • When we install insights-client and then run the --register command, it is creates /etc/insights-client/.lastupload and /etc/insights-client/.last-upload.results files in /etc/insights-client with 0666 permission.
