Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • If /etc/idmapd.conf to use the umich_ldap mechanism "Method = umich_ldap" it fails to load the plugin.

  • Configure idmpad to use umich_ldap

    # grep ^Method /etc/idmapd.conf
    Method = umich_ldap

  • Start idmapd

    # service rpcidmapd start
    Starting RPC idmapd: rpc.idmapd: libnfsidmap: requested translation method, 'umich_ldap', is not available

    rpc.idmapd[32024]: libnfsidmap: Unable to get init function: /usr/lib64/libnfsidmap/umich_ldap.so: undefined symbol: libnfsidmap_plugin_init
