Can operating system patches be deployed using a blue-green strategy in OpenShift 4.x?

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

Does OpenShift 4.x provide the ability to patch sections of the cluster separately from the rest of the cluster?

In OpenShift 3, node-labels are able to be used to separate Nodes into patch-groups. These patch-groups can be used to roll-out operating system patches to groups of machines independently, using the Ansible playbooks. This provides granular control over the upgrade process.

As the upgrade process in OpenShift 4.x is controlled by the Cluster Version Operator and the Machine Config Operator, is it possible to perform similar control over patching and upgrades strategies in OpenShift 4.x?
